The National Museum of Hungary (MNM) won the grand prize and a gold medal at a multimedia festival organised in Shanghai by AVICOM, the international committee for audiovisual and new image and sound technologies, a body of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

The Hungarian director Réka Szabó’s documentary “The Euphoria of Being” has won the grand prize of the Critics’ Week of the Locarno Film Festival, the Hungarian National Film Fund told MTI.

Between September 13 and 16, the tiny village of Tállya in the Tokaj wine region will unlock the gates of its aged mansion, open the doors of its churches, decorate its streets and wine cellars. The most atmospheric autumn festival of Nothern Hungary will také place in the arms of the Tokaj vineyards in the gold September sun.

Film Festival On 1956 Revolution Launched In Washington DC

The packed out screening of a documentary dubbed Journey Home marked the launch of a film festival at the Hungarian embassy in Washington, DC, in honour of the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Journey Home is a documentary by two sisters, Réka and Eszter Pigniczky, about their father László Pigniczky “Pige”, who was a freedom fighter in Budapest in 1956.
